Professional Journey
Rodny represented Venezuela at U12 and U15 levels, showcasing exceptional skills as a shortstop and second baseman. His standout performance earned him the Defensive Player of the Year award at the Pan-American Baseball Tournament U15-Colombia 2013. His collegiate journey included stints at the University of Iowa, Iowa Central Community College, and the University of Pikeville, where he honed his skills and made significant contributions on the field.
Rodny currently excels as a player with the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. His prowess was recognized during his time with the Portland Mavericks, where he earned accolades as a Mavericks League All-Star and 2B Silver Slugger in 2023.
Transitioning from player to coach, Rodny has shared his expertise at the University of Pikeville and with the Bears Baseball Club in Preston, WA. He has also provided specialized infield/hitting lessons and speed training at DBats Southshore in Ruskin, FL. Actively participating in youth baseball camps and clinics with the Portland Mavericks since 2021, Rodny has dedicated himself to shaping the next generation of baseball talent.
Rodny's growth has been enriched by mentorship from esteemed figures in the sport. Training under Luis Sojo and Carlos Guillen Baseball Academies, former MLB infielders, he fine-tuned his skills. Additionally, his time at the New York Yankees Baseball Academy under coach Luis Ramos "Poco Pelo" and learning from MLB veterans like Alan Embree and Tony Torcato at Portland Mavericks has been instrumental in his development.
