A former Catcher, Middle Infielder, and Pitcher at Forest Grove High School and Chemeketa Community College. Known for his passion for the game, Mychal has been with Northwest Diamond Sports for 7 years. Mychal had a stellar career at FGHS where he was a 2003 & and 2004 First Team Catcher and Utility Player, while also receiving recognition in 2004 as an Oregon 4A (6A) All-State Utility Player. He then went on to play two seasons at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon. While at Chemeketa he was a 2-year starting Catcher while also seeing valuable time at 3rd Base and Pitcher.
Mychal finished his playing career at Western Oregon University where he played until 2007 before deciding to focus on his degree in Social Science and also pursue a high school coaching career at South Salem High School in Salem, Oregon. Mychal has over 13 years of coaching experience; 7 years with NWDS and 11 years as a high school baseball coach. 3 years as the Head Freshman Coach at South Salem High School, 1 year as the Head JV Coach at Dallas High School, 2 years as the Forest Grove High School Varsity Assistant, 4 years as the Head Varsity Assistant at Wilsonville High School & 1 year as the Head JV Coach at Jesuit High School.
Mychal has been mentored by some of Oregon's best baseball coaches and instructors. He played under Hall of Fame high school coach Joe Baumgartner at FGHS. Hall of Fame Hitting Instructor Randy Brack. George Fox University's Catching Coach Randy Rutchman. Former Wilsonville Head Coach and current Willamette University's Assistant Coach Matt Kosderka. Former WOU Head Coach and current Lewis-Clark State Head Coach Jeremiah Robbins & and Former Head Coach at the Chemeketa Community College/University of Portland Assistant Coach Tucker Brack. Under the tutelage of these great coaches. Mychal has gained valuable knowledge and experience. Mychal earned his Bachelor of Science Degree at WOU in 2009, has a 3-year-old son, and currently resides in the Portland Metro Area.
